 SikhKaras.com began when we found that we were unable to buy the kinds of high quality Karas that we wanted to wear.  We came to the conclusion that the only way to get them was to have them manufactured ourselves.  We started selling SikhKaras online because we wanted to give Sikhs and others from all over the world the opportunity to get their own high quality SikhKaras directly from Amritsar, India.
 
History of the Kara:

 

The Kara was first given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699 as one of the 5 K's of the Sikhs. A circle with no beginning and no end, the Kara represents man’s unbreakable relationship with the eternal creator.  The steel/iron is a reminder of the strength of the bond which unites us together and ultimately to God.
 
What is a Sikh

 

 Sikh simply means "seeker of truth." Sikh Dharma is a spiritual path for those who are looking to answer the eternal question: “Who am I, and what am I here for?” Like all spiritual traditions, Sikhs have a lineage and legacy, guidelines and philosophies, masters, saints and traditions. Primarily, however, the Sikh way of life offers a down-to-earth spiritual path for every day people. No matter what your spiritual orientation, your culture or background, any person can use the technology of Sikh Dharma to experience his or her own divinity and infinity.

I am a Sikh, born in Germany, and have been living in India since 1999. I work at Miri Piri Academy (), a school that is dedicated to teaching kids and young adults from 8-18 to become whole human beings. We teach Gurbani, Tabla, Gatka, Punjabi, Gurmat, Yoga, art, and sports as part of our full curriculum.

I enjoy working with SikhKaras.com because it gives us a way of serving the community and sharing the blessings of living in the land of the Gurus.
